Marshall Mountain Park now open!

As of today, Marshall Mountain Park is officially open for public enjoyment. The upper and lower trails are now one big, beautiful system and riders can stage directly from the base area. Farewell green gate!

This is a monumental expansion to Missoula's outdoor recreation landscape and our gratitude goes to those who played a key role in reaching this stage, including: Izzy Dog, LLC, Missoula Parks & Recreation, and Five Valleys Land Trust. We're proud to be working closely with these groups to make Marshall Mountain a first-class riding and mountain-based recreation area.

While today marks a huge step forward in the Marshall story, there's work ahead before Marshall can be considered a public resource in perpetuity. Please familiarize yourself with the current arrangement between the landowner (Izzy Dog, LLC) and land manger (Missoula Parks & Recreation) and, keep an eye out for opportunities to support the project.

A few things to know before heading to Marshall --

  • You are recreating on private property; respect property owners and neighbors.

  • Day use only—no overnight camping or parking.

  • Dogs are not permitted at this time, future access to be determined through forthcoming planning process.

  • Watch for trail use and type—some trails are one-way, bikes only.

  • Stay on trails, recreate safely.

Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments about our involvement in this project.
